I remember this preview! With her bleached hair and fair skin, this far-off shot did wash her out so I can see why they didn't use it in the final cut. The video turned out GREAT!
Great video. The song is okay (is it me or is the production a bit cheap?). I guess you couldn't get a bigger contrast to the Erotica video which came next.
The song is a classic. Also one of her 12 US #1's. Should have been nominated and won an Oscar. Can't believe it wasn't nominated at least. Loved how she went from this virginal flower dress wearing woman, to a controlled, hot, whore in charge as Dita the same year.
It's always been fascinating to watch her leap from Bombshell Mode to Wallflower mode with the flip of a switch. She was never afraid to play both roles powerfully... although it sometimes feels like the Catholic girl in her needs to purify her image after a particularly slutty period.
How about posting the new music commercial they showed during the September 1992 MTV video music awards during its commercial break where they posted just maybe 10 seconds of 'Erotica'..from what i remember it sounded so different then the album version released a month later. i know i have it on VHS tape somewhere!!!
I remember photos from the video being in the newspaper at the time, saying how she was no longer raunchy! Little did they know... I wouldn't be surprised if that was her plan all along.
@rl81 I would be surprised if she had really put that much thought into it. I think the video and her image complimented the mainstream, family-oriented style of A League of Their Own. It was kind of the calm before the storm though!

The dress she wore in this video along with her hairstyle were very Live To Tell-ish.
