The Courtesan Who Becomes Queen: 20/20 - Cynthia McFadden Interviews Madonna

I've always loved this Madonna interview with Cynthia McFadden for 20/20 in 2004.

  1. Hands down one of my top 3 interviews of hers. She likes McFadden and does well with her - has it been 3 interviews now? this one, Confessions, and Cannes? This interview was SO good - I love RIT!

  2. Was she still in her 'I used to be an idiot' phase here???

  3. She was good with Kurt but I always hated how awkward Kurt was around her. Intimidated, I suppose but I didn't like him with her very much. What I did like was that MTV was actually doing interview specials (Breakfast with Madonna, Dinner with Madonna, No Bull, A New Madonna, etc). Those were the days! I like the fact that she recognizes real growth when she turned 40. It would make me sad if she were still the same person from 1990. I loved her but sad if she hadn't learned and grown. I think we all might find out "idiot" phase at some point.

  4. My only problem with this interview is that her forehead DOES NOT MOVE! Glad the children's books era is over too.

  5. I think it's a very wise relaxed honest interview!

  6. Great interview, but cynthia is almost as boring to watch as meredith viera. Give me Kurt Loder anyday. Now it;s her forehead? If it aint her cheeks its her forehead. too funny. Lol

  7. At least Cynthia seems to show interest and cracks a smile, shows emotions - Kurt was always so serious and quiet in his voice and seemed uneffected.I say bring back the interview specials but I can do without Kurt. By the way, I forgot to mention a special dear to my heart...Madonna Ultrasound for Ray of Light! LOVE IT!

  8. That's exactly why we loved Kurt and Madonna together. Kurt was a great journalist, quiet and reserved and then him thrown with loud mouth and outgoing Madonna, the two together had an amazing connection. Just watching them together was such yin and yang. Pure bliss for me, anyways. Cynthia is a farkle.
