Extra - Pre-Madonna CD

In 1996, Stephen Bray released a CD that contained the demos (plus others) that got Madonna signed to Sire Records. Ever since her star was born, fans heard about the 4-track demo that contained early versions of Stay, Burning Up, Ain't No Big Deal and Everybody. It was the greatest little gift fans ever got.

  2. That was an exciting gift. I remember they sold it exclusively through a tv offer. you had to call the 800 number to place your order. it wasnt available in stores until a year or so later, if I remember correctly.

  3. I almost didn't believe it was the real thing at first (I spotted it in HMV in Glasgow and thought it one of those awful rip-off CDs). I love, love, love the early versions of Stay and Burning Up.

Strange seeing Caresse Henry in the footage. Makes me feel sad that it had such an unhappy ending for her.

  6. I agree her early voice is natural and stronger maybe. But Stephen had rights on demos? As a producer?

  7. The Evita year was amazing, but LOVE this CD! I was 18 and had a blank check from my grandpa, called the 1-800 number and got my copy. So fun!
