daniel of course im right :) after many many years we won't be able to "see" madonna, but we'll can watch and listen all the amazing and great things she has done. we can keep her always in our heart! :D
Not to get off topic here....but I listened to Ciao Italia on my iTunes the other day, and I couldn't believe that her voice sounded so amazing. It was like I was hearing it for the first time. I guess I gotta revisit the classic Madonna works. I have to agree with the preceding post from "m" 1990/1991 was indeed her finest hour for me too.
hmm, she looks better now then she does in this pic. i think people are intent on being stuck in the past, no matter the facts, and thinking her face somehow looked better because it was 1990. weird. to each their own i guess.
Hey Mila - glad you have discovered "OnTheCoverOfAMagazine" - it is my FAVOURITE Madonna website next to this blog!
Yeah I'd also prefer the images not to be watermarked, but to be honest, the guy who is putting them all online (no idea who he is btw) has maybe paid a lot for some of the ultra-rare mags and cuttings he is showing - or even if he didn't, some of them are so super-rare, it would be totally de-valuing them to just put HQ un-watermarked scans online. We gotta be glad he's showing them in the first place I think!
Trust me - after a while the watermarks won't bother you! I'm seeing stuff on that site regularly which I've NEVER clapped eyes on before in almost 25 years of being a fan!
Thank you for the response! If Madonna had an official blog with super rare magazine scans, she would never watermark them. The watermarks represents someone with entitlement issues! I could go through all of my rare Madonna magazines and showcase them online, but I would never watermark them.
What ever happened to that site, candy-store.org? Such an amazing website!
Meisel shoot is just AMAZING! when will we have outtakes???????? PLEASE!!!! about sites comments, onthecoverofamagazine has amazing stuff and if there was an official madonna site ¿¿¿???? we've known so much more for unoffical sites (starting with madonnatribe, madonnalicious, allabaoutmadonna, etc...), unfortunatelly when we read in madonna.com about tours we had it confirmed months ago by unofficial sites ;o)
tony, you said: "hmm, she looks better now then she does in this pic. i think people are intent on being stuck in the past, no matter the facts, and thinking her face somehow looked better because it was 1990. weird. to each their own i guess."
i think some people are saying she looked better in 1990 because it was before she started fucking it up, and she was also still quite youthful during those years, not to mention the face in this photo is all natural (although there are those rumors that she had a nose job done early in her career).
@Tony....I know it might seem that some fans are stuck in the past with liking certain Madonna eras. But I like to think of it like this. I prefer the Madonna before the world kicked the shit out of her after her SEX book release.
1989 / 1990 were her finest hours for me because that is when I believe she turned from pop star to artist. The Like A Prayer album was the biggest part of that, but the way she looked and behaved at that time is what in my mind defined her. I just watched the Arsenio Hall 1990 interview on youtube and was reminded of exactly where she was mentally / spiritually / emotionally on her journey - the rebel was surfacing big time, it was the lead up to Sex, where her rebellion ultimately culminated. 89/90/91 were so much fun, there was so much rebellion for those of us who were kids at the time to enjoy - rebellion against racism, the church, flirting with sexual innuendo and being congruent to her desires which shocked conservative America (and the world) into realising sex can be fun. I adore this Madonna most. x
Never seen before. Gorgeous, always like this shoot, one of my favorite. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteShe looks absolutely gorgeous here. The whole late 1990/1991 look was amazing. She really was a Goddess like no other.

Actually, in this photo she has collagen in her lips (which she had done for the very first time in late '90 and it lasted into early '91.)

ReplyDeleteWhy are all of you making such a fuss over a lousy-quality picture like this???? My God.
ReplyDelete... - the same reason you think gaga is pretty and talented.

ReplyDeletewell said!
WOW!
ReplyDeleteStunning.
Further proof that she reached the peak of her looks/beauty in 1990/1991.
