The fabulous photographer Amy Arbus discusses putting her book, On The Street, together. Legend has it that Amy captured Madonna the same week Everybody hit the dance charts. It's been out for some time now, but if you see it, grab it.
Oh, take note of per per Phoebe Leger (don't ask who - it doesn't matter and she knows it) that can't take that the Queen of Life is on the cover and says that "she wasn't that important in the East Village, she was a joke".

I have this book. It's got some really great pictures of NYC people. She really captured the time well.
