Oh thanks again, interesting reading for weekend! Buster's collection is priceless and never-ending! Not my favorite era, but it's always interesting to read the old articles.
My collection used to be never ending but I got rid of so much. Not because I wanted to though. In 2006, I sold much of my rarites to fund a trip to NYC for 2 Confessions Tour shows. I had come on some hard times and couldn't have gone otherwise. So, I sold some really rare goodies. In was all worth it - I wouldn't trade Madonna's live experience for anything. Magazines and vinyl come and go for me and I don't collect like I used to. Still, you could take every last piece of my collection and it wouldn't take away the last 26 years of my Madonna experience. Plus, I get to come to Pud's blog and relive and share with you guys!
Was he a cutie? He looks like a pedophile on the cover...that stache and cheesy grin! I got the creeps! LOL! But it is a great read! I love hearing about the process and in the studio!
I have mixed feelings about the Erotica album. There are some great songs/sounds but the tracks are far too long (six minutes of In This Life?), and her vocals on some of the tracks aren't clear. I prefer it when she belts them out! It also didn't sell outside of her core fan base, and actually turned a lot of people off.
I remember when they played Erotica on Radio One for the first time and at the end the DJ said "somebody chuck some cold water over her". The backlash had begun.
interesting article! buster i totally agree with you! the "madonna live" experience can't be compared to all the mags and collector's items of the world!
wow, shep was kinda hot. have always loved this article. such a gem. how lucky are we to have this insight into the album? erotica is a brilliant album. not perfect, but brilliant all the same. thanks pud, and buster, as always.
Great article! The best era ever!
