did you ever read chris ciccone's book? i'm re-reading parts of it at the moment and only last night read the passage where he talks about this event (fairly certain he was referring to this same year). anyway, the book is a must-have for any fan. so full of rare insights. btw, i think this is one of m's best red carpet looks. perfection. i miss that version of her, where she took more fashion risks.
Gianni Versace was shot dead in 1997 so this is hardly likely.
