  3. LOVE THIS COVER!
A1 unfortunately the queen of pop never got the credits she deserves, even if she is the most successful female artist ever! but it's ok.....no matter what some people say, her timeless music and her legendary career will never change! :)

  4. Re: the comments above, I think Madonna does get a lot of credit. It's generally recognised that she's still the 'Queen of Pop', even with Gaga on the scene. And she's still one of the biggest stars on the planet. And very few people would deny what an amazing career she has had, whether they like her or not.

  5. Yea, I agree with Dontlookback, even though it's hard not to get downhearted by the many detractors and there have always been haters, I remember being in school in the 80s and 90s and hearing the 'slut' and 'just a business woman' rubbish thrown at The Artist Prima Provocateur, the truth is there for all to see in her work and success, it speaks for itself :)

@a1 ... while it's great that you're contributing positively here, I have to say that, after checking out your site, I feel your Madonna / Gaga comparisons are not only way off the mark but pretty fucking dismissive of the weight of Madonna's work x

  6. By 'weight', I refer to the cultural significance of her videos and performances and their effect on society and the artistic merit of her music ... while I do actually like Gaga, she falls way short in both respects and to say her output has equalled Madonnas up to Vogue is tantamount to pop blasphemy dude x

  7. I will always stand by what I say when it comes to Lady Gaga. Steven Klein took the utter piss out of her when making Alejandro, I'm sure of it.

  8. MaggieR1771 - You know, I also had a sneaking suspicion that Steven Klein was taking the piss out of Gaga too. I wouldn't be surprised if him and Madonna cooked that one up together. It just seems too much of a coincidence that someone who's a key part of Madonna's circle would then agree to direct a video and make the 'new Madonna' seem more Madonna-like than at any other point in her then 2 year career.

Not only that, but then Ingrid Casares then Tweeted about it saying 'As my husband (Madonna)would say, is this the one where she pretends to be me?'

And at the same time, the Madonna/Gaga comparison video appeared on Youtube set to 'She's Not Me'.

I dunno, but that's quite a few coincidences in a short space of time, and it's hard not to wonder if the whole thing wasn't cooked up by Madonna's camp.
