Corman says:
"She was like the Pied Piper of the neighborhood - [the kids] loved her. They followed her, they danced with her, they sang with her. It was something they did on a daily basis, and it was remarkable. We just walked up and they gathered around. She put the boom box on -- it was her music, though I don’t remember which song - and they just started dancing and singing. She was so alive and unpretentious. She was fierce, determined. Nothing was going to stop her."

Well, Out Magazine finally got it right because whatever they were thinking in 2006 is beyond me when dealing with The Greatest Star That Has Ever Lived for her first ever Out Magazine cover.

i agree with you pud. the 2006 cover was over-photoshopped. a bad cover.
ReplyDeletethe 2011 issue has AWESOME pics! 2 or 3 of them are not so "unseen" though. the article is really interesting as well!
She still is the pied-piper! And yes the other cover was horrible. i sent them a nasty email back then complaining about that other cover. She looks like an alien!
ReplyDeletewhat a great cover! i must find this magazine.
ReplyDeleteshe looks like an alien on the 2006 cover lol
I LOVE the Desperately Seeking Susan print.
ReplyDeleteAgree on the first Out cover. They airbrushed off her head! A total shocker!
I THINK IAM THE ONLY ONE WHO ACTUALLY LIKES THE 2006 COVER ALOT
ReplyDeleteI agree with all the commens above, the 2006 cover she looks like an alien, its pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but not unseen! Never bought this magazine before but I'll get this one.
ReplyDeleteThe magazine looks great, wish I could find it here in Europe somewhere.
ReplyDeleteFabulous covershot!
beautiful photos! wow! I don't know what the hell they were thinking for the 2006 one... Did a blind person work on the cover or what?
ReplyDeletewell, that is her face in that pic... it's not that airbrushed. the fault lies in the cropping of her head. if there was more volume on the top it would balance out the proportions. just a crap photo anyway, imo.
