I did feel bad when I heard! She was a ballsy broad!
Did you know the Like a Virgin cover was inspired by an old Elizabeth Taylor photo? Its from this shoot but I can't find the pic that looks like the LAV cover. This is an outtake. It migt even be from another shoot. I discovered this when I was dong a framing job for a restaurant and they came in with a bunch of old Hollywood star photo's. I wish I could find it.
I'm very sad too. :( I've seen a lot of her films and always thought she was brilliant on every level. She did so much for AIDS awareness and never gave up on it. She defended gay men in mainstream interviews. She was amazing. She went through a ton of physical pain too. I hope she was at Peace when she left us. :(
SHE WAS A TRUE CHAMPION OF GAYS WHEN IT WASNT "COOL OR ACCEPTABLE TO DO SO" SHE WAS A TRUE LEGEND AND ICON. ITS SO SAD HOW THESE DAYS THE WORDS ICON IS THROWN AROUND FOR POPLE LIKE KIM KARDASHIAN OR BIBER OR GAGA.
A Place In the Sun is one of my favorite movies of all time... as well as Suddenly Last Summer & Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf. soooo sad. She was a true champion, sex goddess, undeniable talent, and luminous beauty.
@Steven.. the LAV shoot is VERY similar to the publicity still of Liz in bed wearing that white slip from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof... funny, i never connected those before. love meisel for referencing this!
Me too! I will be posting about her over on Betty a bit later today, too. She will be sorely missed for so many reasons!! A very, very sad day.
