This is one of my all-time favourite Madonna photo shoots. Amazing, especially like the shots of her dressed as a man. And is that Debi Mazar I see? 1991 was a great year. She was never bigger or better.
If only the Sex book had looked a bit more like this I might have liked it more!
Just to amazing again. This was deff my fav era of M. Who thinks of ideas like this anymore? She really had a good team working with her back then. Everything she did was exciting and fresh (even though re-invented).
I am still dying to see out takes from the Harpers Bazaar 1990 shoot with the Guiltier costumes. Anyone know of any?
Absolutely one of my favorite shoot of hers. This look suits her looks perfectly. She really seems a star like Gloria Swanson or an early Crawford. Stunning photos, and first of all,you can see her sparkling personality here.
I had the photo of her in front of the mirror (and a couple from the 1991 Vanity Fair shoot) framed in antique wood picture frames and hanging in my home office for a long time. It was years before I noticed the man reflected in the mirror is wearing hose and high heels. I don't know how I missed that! LOL
Great spread and article. Thanks for posting, Pud!
not only the shoot was perfection.... but the actual INTERVIEW was just brilliant. she and Carrie Fisher really connected on so many juicy topics (being intimidated by each other, friends they lost to AIDS, Warren's wandering dick, how they lie to their shrinks, and M's paranoia of insects crawling into her va-jay-jay when she takes a piss in the woods,). very candid and hilarious interview!!

She totally looks like a 1930's movie siren here! You won't see Lady Gag(a)doing anything quite as creative as this!
