In 1988, under the name Lulu Smith, Madonna did the background vocals for Peter Cetera's Scheherazade from his One More Story album produced by Pat Leonard. It's whatever - but her fabulous voice shines out and makes the entire thing.

I remember this! Peter was recording in a studio next to where M was. They met each other and he asked her to do the background vocals. And the rest is herstory.
