I love Moira, and this is one of the best scenes in Truth or Dare. When I first saw it ages ago, even before I was a hardcore fan, the scene made me so sad, how she had been left behind and Madonna had no choice but to move on because her life path did not permit her to stay in touch with people.
Anyway, did she had that kid or what? and was she named Madonna?? Someone must know what happened to Moira.
I remember looking at her bush! I KNOW! I died for days the first time I heard that! And I agree with Ramon, the whole scene with Moira was one the realer/sadder scenes in Truth Or Dare.
I did not want to bring Lady Gaga into this, I'm trying to remove the gaga poison from my life, BUT real art is artifice but it speaks the truth, and real artists admit the artifice that goes into making art that has truth and meaning, like Madonna and Alek admitted that the scene had been staged, however Madonna's INTERACTION with Moira is real, and ultimately what you get from it is real.
Lady Caca avoids admitting the artifice in her work like the plague, because she, like the poser and fake that she is, believes that the creation process of art must be real and spontaneous, which it seldom is, and hence what she produces is equally fake and devoid of meaning as her words.
This was kind of sad for Moira but not really because we all have our childhood friends growing up but then we move on with our lives (in most cases). Let's face it, would Moira have even asked Madonna to be the Godmother if she wasn't the queen of pop? Don't think so... I wouldn't have said yes either. That should be reserved for someone actually in your life or at least have seen in the last decade! lol
Who the heck asks someone they haven't seen or talked to in 15 years to be the Godmother of their child? Very strange.
I don't feel sorry for Moira. I think for the most part Moira comes across as being happy with her life, just disappointed at some of the decisions she made (like many of us).
Nice little video compilation...it actually makes Moira come off as more...well, let's just say you feel a little more compassion for Moira, instead of seeing her as an odd person in TOD.
Poor Moira. I felt for her. She looks older there than Madonna does now. The drugs don't work kids.
ReplyDeleteI love that you posted this! we love Moira! i wonder if she ended up having a girl.
ReplyDeletepoor Moira indeed.. she looks like one crusty ole broad
ReplyDeleteawkward....
Much Love and well wishes for Moira. Hope things turned around for her.
