  1. Her skin was shot. she looks almost 50. Just an old evil nasty whore.

  2. What a stupid question to ask. I understand why she declined to answer. She looked fine but a little tired.

    Yeah totally agree!

The first part of that video is the brief CNN report from Thursday night - the night after the movie premiere.

But then I added the 2nd short bit to the end - it's from an indepth CNN report the following night about GS 1st night at MSG and "the end of Madonna's career!". I just watched it again yesterday for the first time in maybe 15 years and I could not believe the airtime given to discussion about the "demise" of Madonna.

Never saw any other footage of Madonna at the "Concubine" premiere on MTV or ET or anywhere - only CNN!

  5. It really was a bad time for her, in spite of the success of the Girlie Show. Everybody was slagging her off, and really harshly too. I don't think anybody came to her defense. While a lot of people really rate the Erotica/Sex era as her most creative, I don't at all. While her career was far from over (obviously), things were never the same again. She lost some of the mystery/magic that had surrounded her before.

  6. The Erotica/SEX era was the boldest, ballsiest statement she ever made. No matter how she spins it to rationalize herself to the critics, it still was an artistic statement that nobody will ever be able come close to again. She may have lightened her image with her new records but that period, IMO, cemented her status as an artist.

  7. That whole era she looked terrible. Hormonal changes I am assuming. Saw the Concubine movie when I saw she was somehow attached. Rented it in 1996. Was good!

She didn't have an image that necessarily appealed to me but that's part of good art. On the surface it might not be appealing but in retrospect it was an awesome period.

  9. Yes, Erotica is in my top 3 favorite Madonna albums, but this short hair Girlie Show look was horrible. And her skin was really bad. I think it was hormonal. Notice how nice her skin cleared up after she had Lourdes :)
