if u didn't grow up w/ maddy u can't understand what a change of image this was. i remember seeing these pics & being like" "that's not madonna, that can't be her". it was so radically different from the "M" we were all used to. "back then" you didn't change your image if you were successful. SHE was the 1st one 2 do it. if u want the real image-shaper/shifter...she's right here.
steve, youre so on it. famous people worked for years to create an image to be easily recognizable. madonna shattered all that and then we started seeing journalists say, "unlike madonna, they didnt change with the times". then THAT became part of the template of being a star.
& while we're on it, i'm so thankful that i(we) were born when we were so we could have the full madonna experience right from the start. i can't put it into words but, if you're just learning about her now or having the joy of discovering her, you just cannot capture what it was like...then. for all of that did, we just "get it". & i'm so glad i(we) did.
But I love Madonna!! I just dislike her current work but I've never stopped loving her, I always will.
She was such a light for me in my teens amongst all the darkness, she's like a beacon, I've been surrounded by mediocrity and closed-mindedness and she was like a compass to me, a true leader that preached by example like you once said and I really aligned my morals with that, Madonna represents so much goodness, she's never been a bad example, like EVER, even now her integrity and courageousness and discipline as a human being is completely opposite to the debauchery of the world right now, it always was.
Great People never make you feel less, they always make you feel that you can be great too, and that there is good in you too, and that's what Madonna is, and anyone that truly hates her or dislikes her is just a person of darkness, they can't like the light.
That is why Madonna is like the direct opposite of Lady Gaga, because Lady Gaga is 100% darkness, total mediocrity and deceit in everything she does.
that's what im saying ramon, as time marches on, you will have respect for all things you dislike about 'current' madonna. E.Taylor outside looking in, a hundred years ago, its blurred. madonna is historical, truly legendary and leading. one cant see it until its 5 years dead.
this reminds me of a memory madonna recalled... she had a towel wrapped around her head like a turban and christopher flynn told her she was beautiful... that she had a face like an ancient-roman statue. that was the first time she really felt beautiful

ReplyDeleteI love her profile! That jaw and nose! Perfection!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess Ramona hates everything since American Life except Confessions. Time to move on to another singer, Ramon?
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. I loved those shots. And @steveaw..I concur completely. Nobody that wasn't there can understand the impact M had on everything.
ReplyDelete@Tony, I don't really like Confessions either.
ReplyDeleteAgain: Time to move on to another singer?
