Madonna playing guitar, writing and rehearsing her song, Beat Goes On. I f*cking love this. When she takes that deep breath and reenters the song. Fab. Reminiscent of the Dan Gilroy days.
I have a friend that learned an instrument in the mid-90's and the moment that happened, they threw Madonna under the bus as if they were light years away in their proficiency. I still laugh about that today.
I have to say I almost like this better than the final version, if it were recorded properly.
ReplyDeleteIf you strip down all the HC tracks you really pay more attention to the lyrics and you hear the meaning of them more.
To me you can tell she just wrote this track and she was playing it for pharell or whomever?
Its all so wonderful and her laugh, I love it!
Where did you find this? Fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so sweet.
Music is about emotion, and she's certainly got that. That's what she has over Mariah Carey, who may sing technically perfect but I'm not feeling it, know what I mean? Give me M any day. And every day, as you do ;-)
OMG!!! I have never heard thissss...!!! Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I can understand what she's saying
ReplyDeletePeople do realize this has nothing to do with the Hard Candy song, right?
ReplyDeletebeatiful!!!... and its almost unrecognizable indeed... i do too prefer this version to the one that got released...
ReplyDeleteWhere did it get released?
ReplyDeleteGoddamn THAT is beautiful. The perfect raw voice and a strumming guitar suits her so well. Much better than the album track. She has so much to offer other than dance music.
ReplyDeleteWhat album?? THIS IS NOT FROM HARD CANDY!!!!
ReplyDeletelol.
Tones, this BGO demo or whatever it is seems to be the first start session of BGO from HC right? Of course it sounds nothing like the final BGO.
ReplyDeletewhat are you saying? im sure yr right BUT im confused now. HELP CLARIFY!
That's Monte Pittman, her guitarist, playing guitar on this one! sounds great!!
ReplyDeleteIt just has, 'On and on, the beat goes' and everyone thinks it's the one from Hard Candy.
ReplyDeleteClearly it's an early working of a song with those lyrics, yes, but to have all the fans call it an acoustic demo of The Beat Goes On is a bit misleading.
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, the beat goes on....are the lyrics from the demo of Beat Goes On, the one that was reworked and then made the Hard Candy album, so yea it's an early demo
