Truth or Dare: Madonna as She Likes It

If you’re the world’s most notorious pop icon, do you dare flirt with reality?

Yes, and she did. Truth or Dare is one of the most influential films of the 20th century. We are living in its aftermath today.

  1. Truth or Dare is a masterpiece and was way ahead of its time, however it spanned all the shit we are saturated with today, basicness. I don't know if that's a good thing.

  4. @Tony, what do you expect me to say?? To praise present Madonna?? or present day music for that matter? I'll let delusional people like you do that, I'd much rather stick to the reality of things.

@39b I adore Truth or Dare, but do you think it's reality? It's weird, some of it is undoubtedly real, but it's also fake, however, like true art, it uses lies to tell the truth about life in general.

Fast forward to 2011 and Lady Who's ATROCIOUS Monster Ball documentary, oh my god, has there ever been anything more embarassing? It's like the antitesis to art, in other words, bile!!

  5. TOD was the start of the whole documentary/reality TV before MTV realworld and such. I think TOD set the tone for the future of reality TV etc. No one ever really brought that concept to such an exposed form like Madonna.
my point is I really hate Bravo TV, VH1, and E reality shows. ITS ALL SICK AND BAD FOR YR MIND!

  6. @Ramona, whose reality? Who is really good these days?? Nobody. And plenty of people enjoy current Madonna. This is a current Madonna blog, so why not leave if you don't like her now?

  7. Different points of view are good. I'll leave it at that. TOD was ahead of it's time for a huge pop star. Many Docu's were made before TOD for different genres. Mainly Rock and Punk. M was the first hugely successful "pop" star to let the cameras in. It was brilliant and legendary. ANY "pop" star that is doing it now is just following the Queen as always.

  8. Some people are saying, 'A Very Gaga Thanksgiving' is 'brilliant' and a 'step up from Madonna's, 'Truth or Dare'.

    LOL!
