Madonna's "Masterpiece" Leak

Early this morning, a low quality version of Madonna's song from the W.E. soundtrack has leaked. Been listening throughout the day and it reminds me of The Look of Love and To Have and Not To Hold's love child. I love it - what do you think? Tell me everything!

  2. I think it is a work of art. Touching. Those vocals are lush! Her voice has not changed in 20 years as evidenced by this LQ leak. Bravo, Madonna.

  4. all the different styles of music she's pumping out right now. reminds me of "playground" right b4 the "erotica" storm. so exciting man!!

  5. I think it's fantastic!

I mean, this is the song that will show who her current fans are and who are not. Anyone who comes in here saying it isn't good obviously is off their rocker and should leave immediately and go listen to Gaga.

    The song is amazing!

  6. Does anyone else hear the borrowing from song "The Game" that she didn't release, but you can find it anywhere?

  8. it reminds me of "This Used To Be My Playground" for sure. Love it. Cant wait to hear the finished product

  9. This is the finished product, just super low quality.

  10. I love it. It's simple and beautiful. Love the lyrics and her voice is amazing.

    @Tony

I doubt this is the finished product.
The string arrangement here is not organic (it was played in the keyboards). She would never release a song like this, hoping to get an Oscar nod with keyboard orchestra.

Even in this low quality leak you can hear it was played in the keyboards. I am sure they added a real orchestra to the final song. Also, William Orbit said in October said on a tweet he was about to "record with an orchestra". I bet that recording session involved this song.

Anyway, it is a lovely song.

  12. after listening to the song for at least 20 times,
I must say I hate the clicking urban sound in the background. It is destroying to the melody.
    Is she deaf already?

  13. Aaaaand I'm too late to hear it because Guy "real fans wouldn't do that" Oseary has claimed it.
Damn. Well, can't wait for any of the new stuff shé putting out.

  16. Amazing how her team fails to prevent leaks. One would have thought they would have learnt their lesson soon ...

  20. I think possibly best new Madonna song since the 80s.

Can't stop listening to it - in the same way I used to when I would catch a new Madonna song on the radio back then (and manage to get it taped).

    It's fucking WOW!

  21. OMG Pud - just read ur comment - best song since LTT.

It think I might agree with you (pretty fucking major statement tho!).

This tune is epic in the extreme. I hear it and I see photos of her from the 80s in my mind. The voice is spine-tingling Madonna.

  22. I don't even know how to react to a Madonna ballad - it's been so long. So haunting and lovely like most of her ballads. It is a smart move both artisitic and political. It's a nice cleanse before we hear her new cd. Oscar needs to give it to her for this one! She is so brillaint!

  25. I really love it. In my opinion it's the best her voice has sounded since "Confessions" - I do love HARD CANDY but I felt the way the producers recorded her made her sound shrill. The warmth and deep textures are back in her voice...giving me a sigh of relief and showing to me it was just the way she was recorded and not her voice itself that changed.

Lyrically I think it's great. Ballads are so out of vogue right now...I once wondered if we'd have another ballad from Madonna. Now we do.

I love the echo-ey big reverb on the vocals...might be a little too dark of a sound to make the final version but I hope so. I really love it and it's different. Madonna's vocal effects tend to lead more towards the dry side.

    Masterpiece, indeed.

  26. Her voice is flawless on this track. I, too, missed her 'Confessions' voice. I thought they were great. Smooth, crisp and clear.

Her vocals are very reminiscent of her, 'Evita' work.

    Beautiful.

  27. can't wait to hear it with a full orchestra... the production isn't there for me yet by any means, but her voice is everything... 2012 is shaping up to be like 1985, 89/90, 1998 & 05/06 - which, imho, were the most explosive/creative moments in her career!

  28. Sorry, Slide. The version you hear here, is the finished version and is sublime.

Maybe we will get an orchestral version?

  29. I can't get a fucking link that doesn't wait for ten minutes. I wanna hear this track!

  30. it seems 98% of the M-fans are on the same page and loving a new Madonna song. cool!

I personally think its one of her strongest ballads.
Thats what makes Madonna one of the greatest singers of all time.
she know how to sing a ballad and switch to dance and master the lyrics With 3 decades of music behind her she still sounds as fresh as her first lp.

    MADONNA IS THE GREATEST
