Long Time #Madonna Supporter Dick Clark dies Today

You mind if I call you Dick?

Dick supported Madonna throughout her career. From her now legendary performance of Holiday on American Bandstand in 1984, to him lobbying hard to get her on Live Aid in summer of 1985, Dick Clark was always there for Madonna. R.I.P. Dick.

"Even though I told him in 1984 that I wanted to rule the world, it's Dick Clark who has ruled the world" - Madonna

  1. So sad. I wasn't particularly a fan of him but he was part of an era that is quickly coming to an end. Everyone great is dying, I can't take this. It's so sad.

  2. Very sad, not only was he a great Madonna Believer from the start, he was a very passionate man about music, and back in the day before the internet and before MTV became the phenomenon it did, a lot of acts owe a large chunk of their careers to him.

We all know he hasnt been well for several years now, but it's still a sad shock to hear of his death today. He really was the "World's Oldest Teenager" RIP Dick.

  3. So sad. Loved him and loved his brief conversation with Madonna on, 'American Bandstand'.

    Rest in peace.

  4. I only know of him because of his interviews with Madonna and ABBA but he always seemed like a charming man, kind and gracious. Madonna clearly really, genuinely liked him. Her body language around him is relaxed and open. I like how SHE leans in to kiss him and she rarely does that.

    What a sad loss.

  5. another end to an era that i know......i hate what is happening these days with music, downloading, i tunes, etc its all so cold and soulless and disposable and no romance......i shudder at what is to come.............

    1. I agree completely. Love the fact that M appreciated this man and he reciprocated. Sleep in peace Dick Clark and thank you.

  6. Thank you for sharing that video clip. I never saw it before and it's charming to see them together so many years later. thank you Dick Clark!
