#Madonna Producer @WilliamOrbit's Comments Make Main Stream Press

Click Photo.

As most of you know, last week Madonna's co-producer William Orbit went on a rant to a fan on his facebook page.  He has since retracted the long winded statement saying he regrets it and should not have said it online (really?), that it wasn't "fair to M".  He went on about the best songs of the sessions going to artist Chris Brown and that sound engineer Demo was using a method Orbit didn't click with.  He continued with not understanding Madonna's other pop star commitments.  Anyway, all that and more has made it to the world watched Drudge Report.

Along with her arriving in Tel Aviv to kick off her MDNA tour.

    1. Who'se truth?

Get lost, you fuck twat. The album is great and most people agree. If you don't like the album, that is fine, but stop speaking for everyone else. Orbit was on a rampage a few weeks back about how amazing the album was, now he is saying the opposite?

      Give me a fucking break.

    2. evry - you would respect that. youre a torn anus madonna fan. @williamorbit was using this #madonna opportunity for his comeback. And for those madonna "fans" that will come in and try to let have, ON THE CONTRARY Madonna was heavily involved in #MDNA, so involved in fact, that Out of Orbit is pissed that he wasn't in complete control, didn't choose every song, that there were other producers involved and his songs weren't chosen as the first singles.

prior to MDNA not performing outstandingly, he was praising it as his and her best work to date.

this type of disloyalty in the old days would end with the removal of his head.

  3. I agree, as a musician myself I'm with Orbit on this one. Too many cooks in the kitchen can be a disaster in the studio...and making a record really takes 100% focus - pop star commitments or not.

  4. I have read his "rant" and I still appreciate his honesty. Also, I never really thought of it as a rant against M. Most of what he'd written was very well put and I agree with most of it. And even if I didn't agree with it, I'd still appreciate that there's someone out there telling his/her very own truth. I do not have to agree with everything people surrounding M say. And I prefer people who have their own point of view to people who do not have their own opinion.

  5. What he says fits with my impression of the album. I just didn't understand how she was going to do it with everything else that was going on. And I'm so not interested in the bits of tat she's selling in Macy's, or the stupid gyms.

What did Madonna say about Guy Oseary during her Rock & Roll Hall of Fame speech? That he was obsessed with money. This totally shows in Madonna's recent projects.

On a positive, the new tour pictures look amazing. Love the sets.

  6. Quote from the William Orbit article:
"And all of us fully committed to putting ourselves through extraordinary efforts to make MDNA the greatest album of the year. But alas, the time wasn’t there."

That is depressing. And I totally believe it.

  7. Perhaps I read a different "rant" than that closet-case conservative whack-job Matt Drudge did because my takeaway from Orbit's comments were more to do with marketing and promotion than the artistic merit of the album, which he has praised numerous times.

I'm sick of all this MDNA is a bomb bullshit. Eight weeks later, it's sold nearly 1.5 million copies and is still in the top 15 of the WORLD chart and so far is one of the bestselling albums of 2012. Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen and Jack White and other male artists' new albums have sold a fraction of that and were only in the top ten for a week or two, but their albums are deemed huge successes. What a double standard!

    MDNA is awesome.

  8. How many people worked on Bedtime Stories? That was an awful album.

MDNA is very enjoyable and all of the songs work well with each other without sounding samey.

    1. I agree Tony. Weeks later I'm still listening to it a lot.

    2. Are you kidding? Bedtime Stories was great--although I'll admit I am bias towards that 90's R&B sound. It's what Hard Candy (which had good moments) could've been if she'd chosen to work with rap/R&B producers whose sound wasn't as mainstream--people like DJ Premier, Just Blaze, 9th Wonder or even Andre Betts.

    3. I love 90's R&B. TLC, Jade, Shai, Silk, SWV, etc. Bedtime Stories was NONE of that.

Theres some great songs on BS, but some very shit ones like:

      Id rather be your lover
      dont stop
      survival

  9. The last thing Madonna needs or wants in her life is damage control! I Love MDNA because of its sadness, honesty and emotional truth. What Guy Oseary and Billy Orbit need to understand and realize is that if any record-especially Madonna-gets even a bad, average or mixed review, it will stop said record's momentum cold! It's not just Madonna who has seen this experience firsthand. Just look at Madonna's only remaining relevant contemporaries Bruce Springsteen and U2! They ain't new to this game either! That's why artists absolutely hate and detest the music industry! The bean counters don't care about art, truth, music or integrity! All the suits care about is money, profit, the Top 40 charts and the bottom line! One reason why Madonna has been so good for a long time is that she has taken on the uncaring music industry and beating it at its own game! To paraphrase the brilliant late Clash frontman Joe Strummer in Complete Control, I am sure Madonna is incensed at both Warner and Universal for screwing her! I'll say this-They said she'd be artistically free when she signed that piece of paper! They meant "Madge, let's make at lot of money and worry about it later!" Clearly Maddy's days as the Material Girl are over! Madonna Will Never Compromise Her Artistic Integrity or Human Dignity! Never Count Madonna Out! Once again, when all is said and done, Madonna Will Strike Back-and Win!

  10. Madonna isn't pandering through damage control. No need. She has other priorities. You either like what she is releasing these days or you don't. She knows that. The fact that there is so much effort to qualify her latest work as something it is not speaks volumes more than the work itself, which is just sad. The loudest voices will prevail in the digital world we live in, but if they don't have anything valid to say it won't stick, and never will. Who cares if it took 3 months to record one track or a day to record an entire album? Some of the best music created was done in a single take...5 minutes tops! How long did it take to record Like A Virgin?!

MDNA is a modern success whether people can accept that or not. It includes a US top 10 hit, and entered the charts at number fucking 1! What else did people expect? There will never be another Madonna circa 1986's True Blue release. Those days are long gone. Accept it and enjoy what 2012 offers. In the big picture, MDNA will be seen as a latter day Madonna release that tried to recapture the essence of all that she had encompassed in the decades leading up to it. If it is not a success because the public couldn't see that, or didn't want to hear it, too bad for them as they are missing out. The world has changed. Madonna is still there, fighting hard no matter the reaction, but you can't tell people what to like. If it doesn't resonate with the masses, so be it. Not a reason for ego tards like Orbit to come shit on her parade. He should just shut up and accept that he has a severe case of verbal diarrhea drivel. Not only does he bite the hand that feeds, but he bites himself in the same breath. If he had the vocal tracks, he could have spent as many hours as he liked producing the tracks. Maybe he spent too much time whining that the process wasn't how he wanted it to be, and could have taken the time to just work instead, as per his contractual obligations. He was paid for his services. If he has a problem with the work and the promotional campaign he should do the right thing and just give his fee back to Madonna. Instead he can't take the heat as he sits in front of his computer spewing venom on Facebook about his missed opportunity to live up to the stupid impossible expectations of the type of Madonna's "fans" he wastes his time responding to.

    1. Agreed.

Orbit was praising the MDNA album left and right a month ago and now he is bitching about it?

Oh how soon they turn, indeed!
