#Madonna Spotlight Mitsubishi Commercial Plus Behind the Scenes Shot

This fabulous shot was taken behind the scenes of shooting the Mitsubishi commercials in 1987.  Take note of ex-manager Freddy DeMann in the lower right.

  1. Great pic. I didn't even realise she did these ads until You Tube came along.

But that hair is just terrible. Like Blanche off the Golden Girls. What on earth made her have middle aged/old lady hair at 30?

  2. This is my favorite era of hers. Because it brings my childhood innocence.

  4. I demand a video to be shot for, 'Spotlight' for her next tour! Along with a video for, 'Rescue Me'!

These videos she creates for her tours are perfect chances to make videos for songs that should of had videos: Holiday, Angel, Causing a Commotion, Keep It Together, Rescue Me, etc.

Perfect chance. She needs to realize this. :P

    1. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. Maybe when she decides to do a greatest hits final tour!

Always thought Spotlight should have been a single in America. It was a great little pop ditty and would have been massive in that era.

    2. Yea, but if she can reshoot a video for JML, anythings possible ;)

  5. Do you honestly think she would REALLY remake a video for "spotlight" or "rescue me" ???? I doubt she'd even remember the words let alone ever perform those tracks you've mentioned above again, I agree "spotlight" should have been a single if not to just promote "you can dance" I love all those remixes and edits, Even to this day i can't believe we had to wait two years to get an "Into The Groove" extended dance mix, After all those 12" remixes they released warners left out the song most deserving of a remix,

    1. Spotlight? No, of course not, but Rescue Me was a top 10 and has never been performed live, so you never know.

As far as into the groove, we never got a proper extended dance mix. We got an awful, dated sounding mix from 2 years later. Had we got an official extended dance mix from 1985 when the song was out, that would have been incredible. Sadly, Shep's ITG is just too modern sounding for the song and it's dated at the same time. It's just not what we would have gotten in 1985. If that makes sense.

Still wish they had done a proper 12'' extended for ITG in 1985.

    2. Into the Groove was raped by that remix in my opinion. I just can't stand it. The song is so strong on it's own that I don't know if a proper remix would have satisfied me anyway. There have been a couple of ok DJ remixes over the years, but none come close to the greatness of the original track.

Rescue Me would be a nice interlude for a forthcoming tour. I doubt she would perform it, but we can hope!

  6. Nah..... "Into The Groove" 87 remix was a top mix, as was "Holiday" and "Everybody" They proper funked up those two songs, I could listen to those remixes 100 times a day and never get bored, However i wasn't keen on "Wheres The Party" That remix has no back bone, The original will always sound perfect straight after "Live To Tell" I'd love to see iTunes put out every single released with all the extended versions, remixes remix edits and single versions all remastered in high quality sound, They did with Kylie, They'd make a fortune,

    1. Nah, the 87 mix just stripped away that freestyle greatness that ITG was all about. totally raped and dated it as Trey said.

an original 12'' extended in 85 would have been ace, im sure.

its like saying the passengerz mix of ITHG in 2003 was better then the original lol

  7. That whole remixed and revisited 2003 album was complete worthless, all those remixes are terrible, I can't stand that whole 2003 war themed era, it was nice to get "Your Honesty" though, But before anyone crucifies me, we all can't love everything Madonna does,

    1. Your Honesty was good, but that was a modern remix. We still don't have the original.

And the headcleaner mixes of AL and LP were excellent.
