#Madonna's Pop Up Exhibit @Macys

This is what I have to say about the marvelous one day, two hour only Madonna Pop Up Exhibit at the Century City Macy's store in Los Angeles.  Yes, the Gaultier bustiers were there and under thorough inspection are complete perfection and works of art.  The beyond iconic Like a Virgin wedding dress was there in all its virgin/whore glory. The Bob Mackie pearl and diamond encrusted Oscar dress and fur wrap were there and absolutely gorgeous.  The Open Your Heart bustier from the Who's That Girl tour (not the video) was there and absolutely awesome.  The purple Lacroix bustier from ReInvention was unbelievably detailed, impeccable and beyond petite.

But what really popped my cork, of course, was the Keith Haring Devil skirt from the Vivienne Westwood 1983 Witches collection coupled with the legendary graffitied Boy Toy denim jacket and the worn-out Italians Do it Better T-Shirt from the Papa Don't Preach video.  I'm still recovering from the fabulousness of seeing those last three "pieces" right in my fucking face.

#Madonna's Legendary 1983 Rooftop Dress - Trash and Vaudeville

I was watching this New York Dance Stand video from 1983 where they visited the Danceteria and I noticed when that girl went into the Trash and Vaudeville store that she grabbed at that fabulous Madonna "Kate Simon" Dress from the 1983 Rooftop Series.  Check it out at 14:45.  I don't have to say this but I need to: Madonna makes it.

Blond Ambition Tour Video Rehearsal Footage, Like a Virgin, Oh Father & Keep It Together

More fantastic footage from the Vincent Paterson documentary, The Man Behind the Throne.

"This tour, this was the first time really, that anything like this ever had happened.  With these types of major sets, with the star dancing and singing as much as she did.  The whole crucifix and dancing with all the guys that were dressed up as priests.  Every number was a dance.  She was so fit, she danced, hard, hard.  It was insane.  This tour really pushed her over the top.  It was Madonna.  There was nobody else." - Vince Paterson
