Your Favorite Tour?

All Madonna's tours are fantastic for different reasons but if you had to pick your favorite, which one would it be?

  1. well... this is a tough one :) WTG was my first ever live concert and my first ever Madonna concert. I've seen all her tours except for Virgin Tour (I live in Italy and I was only 15 at the time.. not really pratical for a US only tour!). Anyway if I had to pick one favourite it has to be the GIRLIE SHOW, the first Madonna concert that I had the chance to see three times in Paris and most importantly two of these nights from the very front row (so tough to get there but I was younger then), an incredible emotion that I remember vividly to this day!

  2. Without a doubt, I say it's Confessions. The opening sequence was mind blowing! I loved the whole disco theme. To me, this was the REAL Madonna. She started out in the discos, and she took us back there. She took us back to Like A Virgin, when she said she'd never sing that song again. And I also loved how she gave us Erotica/You Thrill Me! These some of the reasons why my favorite tour is Confessions. :)

  4. You know already Pud, for me it's WTG!

BA is a very close 2nd, but WTG tour will always be the absolute pinnacle of Madonna's ENTIRE career for me!

  5. i don't have a favourite madonna tour. the first time (and i hope it won't be the last one :)) i saw madonna live was in sticky & sweet tour in 2008 and i was close enought to the stage! this is the greatest experience of my life and a childhood dream that came true! i'm not that young, but i live in greece and till '08 madonna had never cοme here for a concert and i couldn't afford to see her live somewhere abroad. i'll never forget that night :)

  7. I´m probably gonna get pelted for this, but can you believe The Virgin Tour is to this day, my favourite? Technically or artistically it may be somewhat underwhelming compared to the grandeur of the others, but the authenticity and pure joy of it takes me back to those times when I started loving Madonna. I remember being in sheer awe of that beautiful little girl dancing in her underwear with crucifixes dangling all over. For me that was EVERYTHING!:) Having said that, the evolution of her live shows have proved beyond any doubt she is the greater live performer ever. Absolutely flawless.

  11. Blond Ambition is an amazing tour. The costumes and every song was a huge slap in the face of how amazing and powerful she is. It was the tour for people who didn't want to think of Madonna as the Queen but had to suddenly bow down and say fine- if you can't beat her join her.

  12. Confessions as well for me... as I was next to the catwalk... but all the shows to me that I have been to DWT, RIT, Confessions, S&S have a special place in my heart

  13. Re-invention Tour.

It's glamorous and full of beauty and messages.

  14. I have to say this is a hard choice, its like choosing ur fav kid.
My first concert was WTG but I watched VT VHS like crazy.
The two 80s tours were playful pop fun dance less political and controversial.
Which brings me to the tour that formed the future of what Madonna would be doing. BLONDE AMBITION 1990!
Vogue, Summer of 1990, button pushing, MTV peak era, religious fanatic uproar, gay awareness, Gautier awareness, and of course truth or dare.
BA raised the bar for anyone trying mix theater dance and still be the modern godess. BA is the recipe of the perfect tour.
MJ. jj beyonce and that caca creature still take or have taken not but have not or will master the M- magic!
Can I get an amen up in here??
BA on blue ray please! All tours on blue ray pls!

  15. i love everybodys choices!!! it is so hard to pick. virgin because it was the first. wtg because its everything. blond ambition because its fabulous and people still byte. girlie because - just wow - her showmanship is out of control. drowned world because its its the show shes always wanted to do. RIT because it was the first time i was front row center. confessions may be the one for me because it kind of incorporates them all. sticky because it was such a great time, fabulous and she handed me the mic!!! love them all!!! xo

  16. Virgin Tour..the innocence..her pure joy of becoming famous..she was happy, sexy, fun

  17. Definitely Confessions. Flawless. Least favorite was Drowned World.

  18. Drowned World Tour was my fave - it was my first (you always hold a special place in your heart for your first) and it used the majority of my favorite album (Ray of Light). It was in Boston and she sang 'You'll See' too. Brilliant.

  19. Unfortunately, I've only seen 3 of them: WTG, BA, and RIT. Of those three, I'd say Blonde Ambition for sure. The sophistication and theatricality just blew me away. AND, she just looked so beautiful, so perfect. The tours I most regret not seeing? Virgin (for obvious reasons), Drowned World (RoL is one of her absolute finest albums), and Confessions (ditto. LOVE that album and it looked like it was SO much fun!). Great question, Pud!

  20. Even i didn't see it i think BLOND AMBITION was the best show ever for its era, still today if you watch it it's absolutely amazing! After this, Confessions i thinks is the most delicated and sofisticated of all shows, perfect from begening to end, and Sticky & Sweer because i'vew been in front and close as never before, and of course, because the official dvd was recorded (for our unbelievable sourprise!) here in buenos aires, and as a gift of universe i appear on it ;o)
Love to all and best new year, and Thanks PUD for your always great way of sharing your love with our unique queen MADONNA!

  21. Pud, I was front row for S&S in NJ, and I got handed the mic in Boston, but I still picked Confessions as my fave. LOL. I'm nuts! :) They all hold a special place in my heart though.

  22. Blond Ambition is the greatest but I really have to say that I looove The Virgin tour!

  23. it's BA for me. when i think about the opening, the whole OF/LTT/LAP/PDP section, the LAV performance, SOL/HP, Vogue and then how she closes the show, i simply cannot deny it. also, the musicality was fantastic and she looked absolutely stunning in every way. and i haven't had the privilege of being to any of her shows so i can say this with objectivity.

  24. Blond Ambition. Ever since I saw it on TV, it has amazed me. The songs, the costumes, the sets, the choreography. Perfection.

I also love The Girlie Show for its burlesque circus theme.

What's great about M's tours is that they are so different. Even her recent ones, which have had more or less the same structure, have had moments that rivalled Blond Ambition for impact.

  25. Drowned World Tour without thinking twice ! . Her best tour ever.
I already deleted the Sticky (stinky) and sweet (shit) from my mind,i dont think that that tour ever existed.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Of course, Blond Ambition, it's something you can't forget!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Blond Ambition for sure. The costumes, the sets, the lighting, choreography. It was the tour that made everyone bow down and kiss the Queen's ring, and everyone still bites from it. I love the Girlie Show too for its pure performance style. Of course the Virgin Tour is great as well, because it perfectly captures the early era of Madonna's career.

Confessions and Sticky and Sweet have their great moments too.

  28. Who’s That Girl World Tour! Out of the two I saw live (Blonde Ambition being the other), it was fantastic and fun from start ("Open Your Heart") to finish ("Holiday"). She also combed her sweaty hair during the show (saw it in Philly) into a mohawk!

  29. Blond Ambition was the 1st rock concert I ever attended, July 1990, Wembley Stadium. I was 14 and ran straight to the front where I remained, completely awestruck, not just by her ferocity and godlike genius, but by the mighty roar of the crowd, the vastness of her pull, the sweet pungent smell of 75,000 people excited beyond belief about seeing the biggest, coolest, edgiest, sexiest female rock star of all time right there before them, the living, breathing embodiment of sexual freedom. People were passed over my head to security having fainted off. I've seen every Madonna tour since and loved every one of them, but Blond Ambition will always be my favourite x

  30. Without any doubt: The Confessions tour. Madonna looked great and the numbers that she performed was the best selection she has ever made in a tour.

  31. Hard one. But BA and RI stand out to me. I LOVED all of them. First one was WTG and it blew me away. Every tour is different for me, so this answer is subject to change.
