24 years ago Tonight! Who's That Girl Tour in Miami

Madonna kicked off the North American leg of her Who's That Girl Tour in Miami, Florida in front of 70,000 fans with MTV news and cameras all about. I stayed at home and recorded all the footage from MTV - it was fantastic. The Miami version of Causing a Commotion is still my favorite version of all time. She was all rained on and buff, androgynous and fabulous. The song hadn't been released yet. She kicked ass in that Florida heat even with all them Horrida bugs flying around her and shyt. Fantastique!!!

September 4, 1987 - Torino, Italy - Madonna in Concerto

23 years ago on September 4th, Madonna performed in Torino, Italy. The concert performed at the Communale Stadium was a monumental television event. It was broadcast live on TV in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Austria. In Italy alone, the broadcast was watched by an estimated 14 million households. The Who's That Girl Tour ended 2 days later in Florence, Italy on September 6th.

While in Italy, Madonna - with brother Christopher - met with extended family from Pacentro. Here's a clip of the pre-concert broadcast where RAI television spoke with Madonna's extended family and designer Giorgio Armani.

I sat in front of MTV the entire weekend when Madonna's Who's That Girl Tour hit Miami. I remember when the audio started for Causing a Commotion, it went dead...i thought it was my TV and after all the waiting, I was like, "Not Now!". Haha! Best performance of Causing a Commotion ever. xo

Oh, how I love this Madonna. That hair, that face, that dancer's body, those flats! Is she wearing the Papa Don't Preach dance segment outfit under that embroidered 50's style jacket? If so, fantastique! Here in America we only saw a few snippets on MTV's Week in Rock. And by few, I mean - Stop following me in the park...and...It's so the opposite of America.
