The Live Aid Jacket

And speaking of Live Aid...The Live Aid jacket was made for Madonna by Prince in 1985. And it's just fabulous that she wore it not only to the Pro-Peace Rally with Rosanna Arquette a few months after Live Aid but also four years later to the Women in Film Crystal Awards honoring Dawn Steel.

July 13, 1985 - Live Aid in Philadelphia, Pa.

October 6, 1985 - Pro-Peace Rally in Van Nuys, Ca.

1989 - Women in Film Awards

  3. @IvorCiccone

The jacket is designed / created by Prince. He also designed / created other items of clothing for Madonna.

One other jacket is featured in the 2008 issue of "Dazed & Confused" magazine which had access to some of Madonna's costume archives (they showed a jacket used in a Scuvallo 1985 photo shoot, which was by Prince).

  5. Always loved the Live Aid outfit although Madonna (at Live 8) said all she could remember about Live Aid was that she was wearing 'a horrible outfit'. I disagree! So 85, so fabulous!

Have to say, in the pic from '89 she looks like a chav (trailer trash in the UK). Rough as hell.

  8. Hell no! LOVED everything of her look until July 1985, when she decided to change her style as a suggestion of her stupid brother Christopher. Always hated how she looked that day and also never understood why people liked anything of Prince besides "When Doves Cry".
