LOOK - You Know You Can Do It!

Madonna has given great gifts to her fans over the years, if they were paying attention. She never coddled them or insulted their intelligence with inane bullshyt - oh my fans, my fans. my fans. Nein! Like every great leader, she leads by action.

One of the earliest and greatest gifts Madonna implemented was that of exercise. I hike, run and cycle every day and have for the past 25 years. I know of many fans that Madonna lead to yoga, swimming, dance or doing whatever it is they like at the gym. Just to move their body. Every time I would see photos of her coming out of the gym with her bulging biceps, I would run to my weights. Inspiring.

Let your body move to the music, let your body go with the flow. You know you can do it!

These are some of my favorite shots of her and past trainer Rob Parr doing it on Carbon Canyon and Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu in autumn of 1987 after her Who's That Girl Tour. All fabulously in her LOOK shorts.

Madonnna makes you want to move.

She inspired me to hit the gym and want to get laid!

To this day Madonna music always goes hand and hand with any
    workout!

None of this except all (fat) of who you are! Get up off yr ass and move!

  2. Most importantly she's instilled in us a sense of pride, courage and strength. She taught us to follow our dreams no matter what obstacles stand in our way.

  5. So very true. I all kinds of fitness training, but I make sure I go every day. I literally think "well if Madonna can do two hours, I can manage at least one!"

Definitely my inspiration. I want a bangin' body at 52!

  6. Can't agree more. I go to the gym 5x a week, and quite often find myself motivated by audio rips of her concert tours. Skipping the ballads, there's something about listening to her live performances that gets me moving.

Finally someone said the truth about the "fans" thing! thank you Pud! Madonna is an artist and like every artist she wants to first please herself with anythig she's doing and then the others. Poets, authors, actors, painters, singers etc do what they do firstly for their sake and then others'. So i don't get it when "artists" think that their fans are the only responsibles about their success and they are always like "oh my fans! i love my fans! i adore my fans! without my fans i'd be nothing! i owe them everything!" LOL! Fans DO make someone huge, but first of all is their TALENT and HARD WORK that make them big.
Madonna pushed me to begin working out 11 years ago and i will always be grateful for the gift she gave me! i love my gym! :)

  9. OK. Who knows what the deal is with Rob Parr vs. Ray Kybartas? Both claim to have been training her during the same period. In his book Kybartas says they met on the set of At Close Range, which means probably some time in 1985, but in most of the pics from that period and for a few years after, she's with Rob Parr. Are there any pics of her with Kybartas, besides the 2 or 3 of them running in head-to-toe Asics gear?
