  2. Is it me but is she coming across like dolly parton in her choreography lately(only thing missing is big ass implant's)? She is a trained dancer and the last few years it does not show at all....And that routine need not be a preview of her new tour....And i also thought Jamie King was not going to even be involved with her new tour?

  5. The entrance was 100% Kylie Minogue. Aphrodite Tour. Available on DVD. Other than that, it was a VISUAL MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!

    1. I hate to be the smart-ass but Kylie personified Aphrodite, the Greek version of Venus (her Roman name).

The opening of Kylie's tour was a reenactment of the birth of Venus/Aphrodite (as Aphrodite and Venus are the same).

Madonna had already done the birth of Venus - that's the opening of the Drowned World Tour - 2001.years before Kylie Minogue. Madonna, as Venus, comes from the bottom of the ocean, the band moving from the center to the sides of her stage represented the separation of the continents and shit.

So, I'm sorry haters, Madonna did not copy Kylie at all. If anything, (and I am not hating on Kylie) it was the other way around. But yeah, she did opened her tour like Madonna did in 2001.

Madge's Super Bowl entrance was NOT 100% Kylie Minogue simply because Kylie did not personify Cleopatra in her tour. Madonna was Cleopatra - look at the Egyptian hieroglyphs and the pharaoh shaped head in her carriage.

Her performance was brilliant and represents the arrival of Cleopatra in Rome. That's why her carriage was ornamented by Egyptian icons and symbols, but on stage, the symbolism was Roman.

CLEOPATRA WENT TO ROME, FOLKS. History!

Kylie has nothing on it. Except that she copied the birth of Venus/Aphrodite opening from Madonna's opening at the Drowned World Tour. But this has nothing to do with the Super Bowl. And Kylie is a cutie.a

    2. Thanks for the essay, but I stopped reading after the part when you said Madonna did the birth of Venus at DWT. That's a stretch....dont ya think?

Kylie has been doing Gladiators for years. She was being pulled on a chariot in Aphrodite. That's the similarity with last night's show.

But none of that matters. It's just pop music. It's not that serious.

  10. It was amazing. I loved vogue and like a prayer. From what I see on facebook not everyone like it. Not everyone is a fan of pop music I guess.

  14. Madonna fucking slayed. I was shivering with nerves because I know she was. But the Queen pulled it off and more. I have nothing bad to say about it. Lipping to bits of Vogue and the entire GMAYL are no comparison to the live version of Like a Prayer. Sheer perfection. Haters EAT IT!

  19. I had one too many layers today and slept through the Superbowl so I had to watch it online. Not had for a 12 minute ride. I thought the intro was bad ass. One critique tho: when we gonna see a new look? That's always been part of the magic. She's looked the same for the past several years.

  20. Damn auto correct. I meant to say I had one too many LAGERS and not a BAD ride for a 12 minute show.

  22. i am quite sick of that stupid hairstyle she has had since Ray of light and that Trogan/Egyptian costume was a mess. Could she wear that skirt any higher? I am sure everyone loved her performance and i agree it had its moments but she seemed too eager to please the puppet masters. The whole thing looked like a huge Masonic ritual, robes n all and to end it with such an ironic message was a little pompous. But then again she was performing for the sheeple so i guess it was quite appropriate. I just was under the impression that the Super Bowl was beneath Madonna but i guess now that she is under a new label she dances to a different beat. Gone are the angst's of the pretentious American Life days, a song i would have loved to see here perform on this stage. Indeed one can only please some of the people some of the times, and my time will come again.

  23. This was something that exceeded my expectations. This was Madonna The Legend, Madonna The American Icon. It wasn't meant to please us fuckers who know she had songs like Paradise (Not For Me) and performances like Impressive Instant from Drowned World Tour. And yet, she nailed it. She was asked, "What do you expect people will leave with after your show tonight" and she said, "Euphoria." And let me tell you, I was at a bar and people were YELLING THEIR FUCKING VOICES OUT. The ending was epic. I can't. I just can't. When she turns into LMFAO and does the dance routine I thought, FUCK. I'LL NEVER BE THAT COOL. AND YOU WON'T EITHER. She's the best. I would say God Bless Her but God already has....

  28. Can someone please drown evry?

The show was incredible! Kylie wishes she could look like Madonna and not Mr. Ed. Madonna has done the pyramid/egypt whatever look before. Desperately seeking susan jacket anyone?

Anyways, 99% of the world enjoyed it, the 1% (evrybdy) can stay stuck in 1982 and danceteria.

  32. i LOVED it! (even though i didn't like the cleopatra theme that much)
i think if she wasn't lipsynched it would be way better. BUT she sang live like a prayer and it was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
    welcome back queen of pop!

  33. Why on earth did they play an LG after M.'s performance as they went back to the 2nd half of the game!?!
I mean who at NBC needs to be FIRED!

  34. I still am in Euphoria from last night. I watched the show a few times after to really see all the glory in detail. After watching I was even more blown away. This was probably her most technical show ever done and she had to do it in 11min. Holy shit no room for error! People can rag on the singing live or not it was a mix of both live and playback. Haters need to shut the fuck up and don't really understand the art of Madonna look at Vogue MTV awards 1990 its still
one of Madonna top performances and obviously that was not sung live.
I died with the Cleopatra entrance (sorry Angie M beat u to it) the House of Givenchy Couture the Phillip Tracey hats and the boots she had to dance in?? Insane!!
As far as the guest I feel like they all symbolize a lot Madonna back up help. Minaj and M.I.A . We're great. LMFAO we kinda are having a Shaba Doo 1987 throw back moment in my eyes the shuffle is Madonna moves to me. Cee Lo was obvious Nicki Harris but thinner. Such stunning visuals I still can't believe it. If this is a taste of 2012 tour I want to see it a zillion times! I've seen amazing reviews of the performance and I'm very excited for her promo on MDNA! Ps the GMAYL single is climbing fast so people keep buying and tell everyone to but it! Xo

  38. I've always wanted to see Vogue done with an Egyptian coneit... and... well.. she NAILED IT!!!!! the gladiators, the throne, GIVENCHY, that golden headdress... AMAZING!!! would have been interesting to see a Pyramid-inspired stage as well. It was GENIUS!!!

Like A Prayer was BEAUTIFUL, loved the lighting, the choir, and her voice was STRONG... the black robe was such a throwback to BAT, nice touch!! As for for her "slip" and tame choreography, it was widely known she had pulled her right hamstring - which only made her moves all the more impressive (multiple cartwheels, anyone??)

  39. Kylie + Aphrodite + Chariot = Greek!
    Madonna + Cleopatra + Throne = Egyptian!

    2. That's exactly what I thought of when she first came out. A nod to a golden age actress as one of the most important rulers in history. She certainly captured my heart. Even if you don't like Madonna you have to recognize how amazing that performance was regardless of music genre, age or gender. World Peace!
