Loved the video montage you just posted. I can't say that I'm surprised Whitney is dead, though. That train-wreck went off the rails years ago and it was just a matter of time.
I also just read that Whitney Houston was "broke as a joke" and had blown through the $100 million she received in 2001 when she was resigned to her label.
I truly am sorry she's gone, but I'm so happy that we've still got Madonna, who wouldn't let this kind of thing happen to her in a million years!
RIP in Girl, I hope you find the Peace you deserve, and thank you for some of the best music I grew up with. I'll always cherish the voice I'm so grateful that I'll still be able to listen to. <3 CHH
why are we mourning someone who hated madonna? she said she'd drown her child if they turned out like madonna. you're not sure a good example yourself whitney you dead junkie.
and she ruined dolly partons 'i will always love you'
This is maybe a bit harsh, but she did hate Madonna. I remember her comment about drowning her child if she turned out like Madonna. You can also see the venom in her face when she says that 'Madonna gets everything she deserves'.
It was hard for me to like Whitney after she made those comments.
Still a sad ending for her but totally predictable.
If your post was meant be funny It wasn't.. and how dumb off you to think that just because someone does not like Madonna, we in return should not like them. Buy that logic I should cut my sister, one of my brother's and a uncle out off my life.....really stupid
@Thru my eyes Totally agree with you. Who cares if she hated Madonna or not. I highly doubt she cared at the end of the day and was probably just being asked a sill question from some annoying interviewer. Madonna was a trashy hoe back in the day, so of course people would have negative opinions about her. Now we look back and realize it was ground breaking and trendsetting, but at the time is was pushing the envelope to far for most people. Anyways, this is a sad day.
Agree it's a sad day. Whitney had so many good moments.
As for the comments she made about Madonna, ALL female singers got asked about her again and again and it must have been tiresome. As today has gone on I've felt more sad about it.
She will hold a place in my heart. I think her album Your Love Is My Love had the best singles and the best remixes. My favorite Whitney era of all time. Bodyguard soundtrack was and still is amazing too. So sad to see her go.
So many of them thought Madonna was a bimbo for a day, and now everyone is gone, even George Michael is a shadow of himself... I mean, how lucky we are to have Madonna, who is tirelessly entertaining us for 30 years and has no sings of slowing down. We need to appreciate Madonna more.
I loved Whitney very much. This is a very sad day. She was a huge part of my happy days soundtrack.
Who knew both mj and Whitney would die from drugs?? In the 80s they were considered safe. Madonna and prince were on unsafe. I guess it must hard to be perfect.
whitney sang some of the WORST songs of the 80's (my name is not susan anyone?) she was totally uncool, couldn't dance for shit and was sooooooo dull. being a junkie was the most interesting thing she ever did.
whitneys highlight for me was when bobby brown claimed he would help her out with his finger when she constipated.
I wonder why the old slut Madonna kabbalah spiritual queen (whom I love obviously) hasn't yet said a word about this tragedy? She kinda obliged to. I think it's not classy of her to wait this long.
shes busy living, keeping fit and getting ready for her new tour and album that debuted at Number One in 50+ countries. Not getting junk'd up. She will when she has time.
Well I won't post here anymore because Pud obviously hates me, BUT, did you guys see Whitney's interview with Oprah? the last one she did? There was a moment when she spoke about her drug addiction, and she said something along the lines of you know she was Whitney Houston and she had had the biggest hit with the bodyguard and what else was there to achieve? In short she had lost her drive to live and achieve things, and that is why she ended like that.
I can't help but think of Madonna, how at 53 she still has the same artistic drive she had in the 80's, which is probably the hardest thing to do, to keep that thirst for life, she's a true hero.
Oh God its heartbreaking that shes gone, but her star and those hits and that voice will live forever..greatest thing for her legacy,,the good side of it..hope m adresses her passing
Talk about a role reversal! I am truly sad that Whitney is gone! Her cover of I Will Always Love You is and will always be definitive-That was Miss Houston's Live to Tell/Take a Bow moment. Another useless tragedy! To paraphrase Hard Candy's forgotten gem Incredible-We Need to Get Back There-Appreciate Madonna-Before It's Too Late! Rock in Peace, Angel Whitney!
Such a shame. I was never a huge fan, but I liked the first few singles when I was a kid. Her voice was beyond and I hope that is her legend. May Whitney rest in peace.
its insane to see them both on the charts again!! Kind of miss it. Its like 1992 all over again. Out of all the past competitors i find Whitney the classiest. I wish she never met Bobby. RIP Ms Whitney.
Poor Whitney, she had an amazing voice, probably the greatest, and she was so beautiful too. She wasn't always nice to Madonna though.
ReplyDeletethey had their contemporary rivalry ramon but that ended so many years ago.
DeleteI know it did!

she did not get that 100 million dollar's...do you think they just hand out that sum ? Um no
DeleteThis is a very sad day. Thank you for the great music Whitney........RIP
ReplyDeleteVery sad but nothing shocking. She wasn't behaving properly.
ReplyDeleteare you the moral police, Nostradamus?
DeleteNot surprised at all. It's tragic though.
ReplyDeleteThe drugs don't work, even if you have millions.
There's a place for Whitney Houston in my heart..R*I*P
ReplyDeleteUm this bit is a bit laughable "The two last great females of music." Don't insult madonna
ReplyDeleteI was never a huge fan, but she did some amazing songs and was truly 'the voice' for many years.
ReplyDeleteMay she finally be at peace.

if she hated madonna like all of you say it was because she was jaded like every other 'star' out there.

ReplyDeleteWhitney Houson was one of the greated singers of my lifetime and had some of the best pop songs ever. I am so sad that she has died SO YOUNG. Tragic.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't really give a toss if she liked Madonna or not.
Agreed.

Yes she is, NEGATIVELY one must say and I love it. Seriously Lady Gaga is ATROCIOUS, I'd rather have Whitney alive than that horrible tramp.
