#Madonna #MDNA Q Magazine Review: The Greatest Female Icon in the History of Pop.

MDNA has been on constant rotation since its release a month ago.  With each listen it gets better and I discover more brilliance.  All the chit chat shyt about the album sales drop irritates me so on a positive note, here's the Must Read Q Magazine review.

  1. It's strange that Q delivered one of the most thorough and poetic reviews of Madonna's latest opus and that her fans generally didn't pick up on it. Thanks for bringing attention to it. Q Magazine has a much more musical approach to reviews than the overblown and shadow-of-its-former-self Rolling Stone, and, aside from the mandatory silly Brit talk, it reads as the ultimate synopsis of the true value and position of MDNA in Madonna's unprecedented career pantheon. As always, her fans will catch up in five years, and the rest of the lazy pop culture followers will take another ten. While everyone wastes time fantasizing about tour setlists, single and video releases, television appearances and various other delusions of insight that are compounded by a hideously and comically misinformed core group of wannabe Madonna micromanagers who obviously know better than Guy Oseary, Madonna has become a multi-billion dollar brand in full expansion, has delivered one of her greatest albums and is about to embark on what will be her greatest tour yet. Watch and learn!

  3. The album is failing cause of management... not cause is a bad album... wrong single picks/promo/they just don’t care...

    1. No. The album isn't failing for a start. It's impossible for a veteran artist to sell massive amounts of records in the US. The rest of the world has followed in its inability to support legacy acts, but Madonna outsells most others on an international scale. Touring is much more important than record sales, and her management is acutely aware of this. In twenty years, no one will care that Katy Perry performed on American Idol 30 times, or that Rihanna released 3 albums in two years. I think Madonna's fans who constantly criticize her management need to get a bigger picture perspective or get off the boat. It's tiresome hearing endless opinions about what should have been done by her management, as if she is under some kind of Britney Spears-like conservatorship. This is Madonna. Whatever decisions have been made represent her. There is no other way. Therefore, if you prefer your pop diluted, vapid and disposable, you know where you can find it. I think it is in South East Asia right about now, and there's an empty front row seat with your name on it.

  5. For me the album also gets better with each listen. A true feat because the first time I listened to it, it really blew my mind. Great review for a great album. Here is a review I recently discovered, which I really liked too:

  6. Great review and spot on. This album is a gem to me. The lack of radio support is sad but expected. I couldn't care if it sold 1 more copy. I got my MDNA and the less fortunate can eat it.

  7. I love this record! It sounds so fresh but also incorporates all Madonna's we have experienced the last three decades. It's also very bittersweet, anyone calling this 'mindless dance music' isn't listening very well.....

    1. LOL! I think you are thinking of the putrid, 'Born This Way' album.

MDNA has been universally acclaimed and is, as always. being called the Queen of Pop.

      Deal.

    3. I really think the writer is SERIOUSLY overreaching with stating this is her best album in a decade. It's FAR from it.

This album has some redeeming moments, but for the most part it's an album that lacks any kind of passion or statement. It's Madonna going through the motions. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is what it is. And what it is, is disappointing. This woman used to care about the music she made.

    4. U are nuts. American Life and Music are about as unpassionate and lacking of any staement of any album she has ever made.

Sorry that Madonna has, once again, topped herself.
