GGW is easily one of her best openings, people who don't like it, just don't like the song. I hate Ray of Light, so obviously our opinion means very little. :)
This all looks like BA mixed in with The Girlie Show and DWT, just GOOD this time!! And it has a pop appeal. something the GS and DWT were severely lacking.
She opens with GGW. The first thing you hear is the music from GGW, a remix, doesnt matter, still GGW. First words you hear are the spoken intro for GGW.
...and i mean her tour not the micro managing of EVERYTHING she does! If this doesn't please a fan then you are insatiable! And I mean that in the most loving way!
I have to say I like how she performed Turn Up The Radio. Just her and the cassette backdrop. To me, it's almost as if she's just presenting the song. It's a great song and reminds me of Donna Summer for some reason. A pop song that tells a story. I think it's a classic.
extraordinary show. theatrical and artistic. if the song list was a little a bit different and the costumes were all by gaultier, it would have been impossible ever for her to overtake it in the future.
Turn Up the Radio is an instant Madonna Classic Rocker. Her guitar playing is brilliant in this song! If Radio doesn't play this brilliant Chanson Ciccone, screw Universal! Madonna's next record will be about how the music biz screws, cheats and robs artists and bands from their livelihood. And who knows better than her? You Rock, Lady Madge!
This looks like her most visually amazing tour EVER. Breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteWhy have they dubbed the studio version over her vocals, and done it badly?
Girl Gone Wild, as much as I think it's fun, just isn't that good. Not for such a dramatic opener.
Other grumble - the cheerleader outfit isn't flattering at all. It makes her look short.
But the show looks stunning. Ditch a few of the non-hits (I'm talking to you Revolver, Candy Shop) and it could be her best ever.
Agree with Candy Shop. Who thought that was a good idea?
DeleteDoes anyone know who the back up singers are this time round? they look the same as S&S but not sure?
ReplyDeletegreat and amazing show. hot as hell. breathtaking.
ReplyDeletere-invention + blond ambition.
Looks fantastic!

Tony, she doesn't really "open" with GGW. It's like Reinvention. There's an opening then she appears and performs a song.
DeleteI like the opening. I think followed by GGW is kinda weak but that's just me. Opinions are like assholes.

ReplyDeleteThis show looks amazing and the most spectacular thing she has done in years! I'm all in!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see her live. It looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteBut my wait is going to be a long one;)

ReplyDeleteI have to say I really like Candyshop mixed with Erotica. It works. I thought I wasn't going to like it, but I love it. That's Madonna!
