  2. who directed? I like the filter and locations and she looks great, but a lot of the energy was lost in the questionable editing.

  3. I liked it a lot, but the beginning with the paparazzi bored me a bit. It was way too similar to DW/SFL video. I did like how she came out of the hotel with her suitcase and holding her head. It felt like a JML sequel. I think it's a fun video overall and I'm sure those fans in the video had a good time too. :)

  4. She Looks Fantastic! It's a chilled out fun video! Shot really well on location. Perfect summer video! I am satisified.

  6. Her album flopped hardcore. Her concerts have not sold out. Young kids think she has grand children. I can see why she was holding her head in the car. Poor thing. On the upside, the industrial light and magic time that worked on the video made her look flawless :-)

    1. Flopped MDNA album is the 5th best global seller of 2012. Flopped MDNA tour currently ranks #1 grossing $49,545,712 from 14 shows attended by 417,448 while Gaga's BTW tour grossed $23,691,507 from the 15 shows in NZ & Australia attended by 180,498.

    2. jesus. some m fans need to stop comparing her to gaga when m has been around 5 times longer and is verging on being a heritage act at this stage. of course m sells more tickets per concert. gaga is doing pretty great in her own right when all things are considered. where are the objective fans?

      Delete
    3. Objective or fans that like Lady Gaga as well?

Objective doesn't mean we need to sit and say negative things, you ass wipe.

How many top 10's has Lady Gaga has in the US in her 4 years? And Madonna??

      Oh, that's right. heeheheheheheeeee...

  7. I'm totally disappointed in M's latest video "Turn up the radio." I just don't understand what she's trying to say in it. In most of her albums, the first 2 or 3 singles will be amazing, then the 3rd and 4th will be lukewarm. Though the earlier singles from her new album MDNA were received well, they didn't reach up to her fans' expectations. I'm sure it's going to be her biggest flop in years. She had to film video for some other song like Love spent or Gang bang instead of turn up the radio. It's reminiscent of many other songs by herself as well as other artists (Eg: Step back in time/Kylie, Drawned world/Madonna, and Sorry/Madonna) I HATE IT.....

MDNA flopped? WTF? Who told you this? I, actually none of us didn't know that!!! And the review of MDNA tour is absolutely positive. I'm her fan, but I always agree that even she makes mistakes sometimes. But plz dont be ridiculous like this.

May I know one thing, have you really got a copy of MDNA? Or atleast heard all the songs in it before criticizing like this? If your answer is NO, plz don't say anything again.....

    1. Flopped ie., meaning... did not sell as expected. I only like Love Spent and maybe Falling Free. That's it. I didn't buy it cos the other songs were lousy.

    2. Good thing the album debuted at #1 in over 30 countries. Terrible flop.

How many countries did, 'Born This Way' debut at #1 in? ;)

  9. I won't say I'm disappointed, but she could've pulled off sth much better out of it. Looks, scenario and all are flawless. She is stunning as hell, and the way she looks at the camera is incomparable. Still, it feels somewhat incomplete. I guess it's the bad editing and pace for such an upward song.

  10. What a bunch of fucking complainers. Stop being her fan and follow someone else. WTF!

  12. its down there with Jump for me. she got a bargain out of Tom Munro and sometimes you get what you paid for. videos filmed whilst on tour are rarely great. oh well.

  13. it should have been even more Italian, like the ending. more filmic, romantic, retro italy. i liked that element.

  14. I love it! it's a video for the fans. A good video can be simple too!

  15. It's so boring :(

    She look fantastic, though!

Could have been so much more. It needed a dance break in the middle. Like her and her dancers stopping at a gas station and doing a tightly choreographed dance. Would have been hot!

  17. It's definitely her best third video since, Drowned world! I keep reading most people saying, 'What It Feels Like...', but that video is terrible and Madonna has never looked worse lol.

    1. I'd say it's the best of the three she's released off this record so far. Girl Gone Wild could have been an ad campaign for perfume or a clothing line. Give Me All Your Luvin' was just a prep job for the Super Bowl. At least she looks fresh in this one. I like the hair, the look, the concept. It's free and fun.

  18. Themeatically pretty uninspiring but it doesn't look like any other Madonna video so that is somewhat of an acheivement. The bit where she shakes her ass and smiles at the camera was great!

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's a decent enough video especially with her being on tour. I wish she would have gone full on Fellini or something, but it's nice to watch. Not on par with her best, but not bad either. And she looks gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Her best song in years! Turn Up the Radio is even better at the MDNA performances with metsl guitar! Madonna is a Rocker now and forever! An acoustic singer/songwriter type she is not! Thank goodness! Madonna Ciccone is among the greats in Rock and she is the last of her kind. She will always be my Lucky Star! Madonna Forever!

  22. Just read that they have scrapped plans for the Australian leg of the MDNA tour. That REALLY pisses me off. I'm not even from Australia, but she has neglected her Ozzie fans for FAR TOO LONG. Not cool or wise Madonna.

    1. Oh please. Unless you live there, shut the fuck up.

I'm sick of reading all the bitchy comments from people who don't even live in Australia. Let's remember where she did the tour DVD for The Girlie Show and how many dates did she do in America? Not even ONE on the west coast, where I live.

Am I complaining? Of course not.

Madonna doesn't HAVE to tour ANYWHERE. She was planning on it, things changed, so she isn't going there.

Oh well. She hasn't toured many places, so no big deal. I do feel bad for Aussie fans, but again, plenty of countries she has never been too.

Unless you live in AU, I really don't think anyone should be complaining.

Don't like it? I hear Lady Gaga opened her cardboard cutout tour over there! :)

      Delete
    2. And this wasn't directed at you, Trey. Just all the non-AU people bitching and complaining :)

      Delete
    3. I just think it sucks for them. What would 2 or 3 more shows in stadiums hurt the woman? It's a let down for fans and I just think it's lame.

      Delete
    4. I think it's lame she didn't tour the west coast with The Girlie Show.

      Big deal.

      Life goes on.

Did she put the tickets on sale then cancel? No. So there is no reason for ANYONE to be mad. Disappointed? Sure, but mad?? Really???? lol.

When she said she was going to AU, I am sure she was planning on it at the time. Again, things change.

      Simple as that.

      Delete
    5. Madonna seems exhausted in interviews lately. If she is as tired as she seems, I hope she cancelled the tour to rest up and feel revived. Sucks for the AU fans of course, but more importantly I want our lady to be lovin' life.

As far as the video, since we're all giving opinions, I feel eh about it. Looks good - better than other 3rd videos...but I can take it or leave it (kinda like the song itself). It's harmless - not bad and not great.

If I had my wish list I'd love to see a super artsy bad-ass video for "Gang Bang".

      Delete
    6. Let me rephrase that - she didn't "cancel" anything because it was never scheduled. I do hope she is taking her physical and mental health into consideration for 2013!

      Delete
    7. hi jeremy, I have to correct you there - it was scheduled for feb 2013 abd stadiums had been booked... she just hadn't released tickets. so, she cancelled. it's a bummer and the aussie press are bitter about it, unfortunately.

agreed about her appearing to need a good solid break, but presumably she would have had a decent Xmas break before the Australian leg. it's a sad day abd quite insulting for the Aussies.

      Delete
    8. Both of you are correct. No dates or tickets were announced, but she has "promised" Australia for the last few tours. Just the speculation that she MIGHT perform there again after 20 years is a big high for those fans and then the let down. It's sympathy I feel for the AU. I know how much it sucks to have to either fly to another state(and I HATE flying)or miss an M show because she doesn't play near you. I got lucky for MDNA and SAS. Hope Australia gets their day again. And that is as simple as that! :)

      Delete
    9. She never cancelled anything as tickets were NEVER on sale.

You can't cancel something if it was never offered.

      Sorry!

      Delete
    10. Never said anything about cancelled. I was talking speculation and hope and let down. It's all good Tony. Don't be getting up in arms! :)

  23. To the ppl saying there's plenty of countries M has never toured that's true, but Australia is an ENTIRE CONTINENT that's the difference. I personally think ppl are making too big deal out of it but there is a difference.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes there is and there is definitely a difference in saying you PLAN on touring AU and then changing your mind, for whatever reason and having tickets go on sale and then cancelled.

      Big difference.

      Delete
    2. I don't think tickets ever went on sale and I agree it's dirty to lead ppl on that you're gonna announce dates any day now, only to cancel. It's my understanding that if Aussies knew earlier she wasn't touring there, they would've made other arrangements but now it's too late. I get it. It's not cool what her team did but, you know, in the end it's just a concert.. even if it's a Madonna one. The ol' girl ain't bowing out anytime soon; they'll be other tours. Personally I think she will hit Australia on a second leg.

      Delete
  24. I agree with everything Tony said about this whole Australia fiasco. People really do need to get over it. I think she did plan on going there, but changed her mind, probably because she just didn't want to be on the road that long, and will be beyond exhausted and bored by the end of the year. Madonna is not a fembot, or puppet. She's a very real woman, and a 54 year old one at that. The MDNA tour is very physically demanding, for a 20 year old, let alone someone her age. She has very real limits, and all of these people whining about how she can do second and third legs need to fuck off their asses and attempt to do even one of her shows. I want Madonna happy, healthy and sane. Some will only be satisfied if she fucking dies on stage singing some useless b side.

This sucks for the Aussies, but my sympathies are waning by the minute. They are no more deserving of a Madonna tour, than anyone else, and Madonna certainly doesn't owe them shit. She doesn't owe any fan anything tbqh, except music. If we don't like the music, we have no obligation to buy it. It's really as simple as that. All of this childishness about banning her from the radio, and bashing her talent is just ridiculous. The Australian market hasn't been into her for years, and Madonna couldn't care less anyway. She is not losing any sleep over this local meltdown. Trust.

As far as the video goes, I love it! Great references to her past work, as well as La Docle Vita, and she does look so amazing and happy. Great ending too, which seems to lead into Gang Bang. Hmm..

    1. Oh come on, they're a tad more deserving. It's been 20 years.

      Delete
    2. Once again, deserving of what? There are countries and continents she has never toured. Is Africa deserving too? What about India, China, and countless other places? What's so special about Australia? Radio doesn't even play her records there, and her sales are dismal. The way people are carrying on, you would think she had skipped out on some major sales territory....or the center of the world. Australia is neither of those things. At least she went there once and shot a dvd. She started in New York, was formed by New York, wrote a love song about New York, and currently lives here, but has never even shot a dvd here, yet we don't bash her for that, or have a fucking meltdown over it. Hopefully this tour will finally give us the dvd we deserve.;)

  25. And one more thing...I hope she NEVER gives an explanation for changing her mind. She doesn't need or have to.

  31. When Australia actually shows some love and celebrates her music instead of leaping all over the latest next Madonna, perhaps Madonna and her team will consider returning to Australia. Until then, a country that doesn't play her records or buy her music and is so isolated from the rest of the world just won't seem that appealing, economically and personally.

Madonna's fans are further microcosmic proof that newer generations of youth culture will be more and more informed by a sense of misplaced entitlement. To speak of a generation that will stomp feet and declare war on pop stars for not doing what they want, but that can't be bothered to vote (politically, not on television), rally, inspire or be inspired is to acknowledge the absolute death of an era. Perhaps that explains why Pud is no longer inclined to post as enthusiastically as he once did. Enjoying Madonna is becoming more and more of a private experience that we long timers have no desire to have smeared by putrid and uninformed tabloidism and self-loathing so-called fans who are so filled with complaints one wonder if they know their assholes from their mouths.
