#Madonna Hits Home Run at Yankee Stadium Last Night

From all the reports I've read from Real Madonna Fans, the show last night was off the charts.  If you were there, tell us all about it.

  1. I was there! Sec 223. It was good, but not great. It wasn't her best show. This was my 6th time. I didn't like the song sections. I could have done without gang bang, human nature and revolver. The last show I saw was confessions and I forgot how well she dances live. I loved the stage and visuals. Perfect setting for a stadium. When she sang express yourself and vogue and I felt the floor shaking. However, her version of Like a virgin quieted the crowd. The concert proved to me she still has it and she is not going anywhere. I saw gaga and britney and they barely moved. But I was disappoint to see all the empty sections near the speakers. My section was at the speaker but it wasn't in my view. My section was only half filled, I was able to move down. I'm thinking the scalpers has to disclose the view was obstructed. Overall a good show!I recommend the show to non-Madonna fans.

  4. Not so sure about the "home run" thing.
I was there last night and let me tell you my experience.
First off parking was hell and very expensive then when we got into the venue it was really crowded. I was very excited. We had floor seats section B5, center stage it was a great view. I paid $ 900.00 for them. When we arrived at our chair's they where not there. Live nation decided to move half of the B5 seats to another location. Placing us in section B6 but not just anywhere in section B6. It was the last row of chairs ( behind everyone on the floor ). So we went from a perfect view to no view at all. We could hardly even see the screens. We tried to stand on our chairs but where told to get down. So we missed almost all of the show. Tickets say show starts at 8:00. M didn't even get on stage till 10:30 ( 2 1/2 hours later ). It was a very long wait.

Here is my opinion of the show from what i did see and hear...
For the most part the first 3 songs where like torture. Maybe it just me and thousands off her other fans but it seemed like no one really liked the whole gun thing. Everyone just kinda watched in unimpressed awe
Papa Don't Preach was great till it was cut short. Best Friend with Heartbeat was great, i loved how it was mixed together. Express Yourself, Give Me All Your Lovin, & Vogue where all really good.
She sounded OK until Turn Up The Radio where she proceeded to screamed most off the chorus in this weird shriveled like voice. I also loved the Candy Shop & Erotica mix and I'm A Sinner with Cyberraga in it.
Like A Prayer was amazing. I know its the MDNA tour but Overall i feel like she could have added some more older stuff and i also felt the show was to short, There wasn't even an encore. The show was good not great.
As a fan forever that's seen ALL her tours, i would say it was by far the worst tour Ive been to from her. This tour is not for the fans.
    Just my opinion.

    1. I agree with the first three songs! You put it great, it was pure torture!

About the time on her facebook, her people wrote she will be on stage at 10:00. How can any show start at 8 when there is an opening act??? I knew she didn't do encores anymore, her last encore was on the GS tour.

Her voice sounded great to me. The sound was perfect overall in the stadium. I like it this time she didn't have too many remixes of her songs.

But again, my only complaint was the song selection. I hate to say it, but the average fan wants to her La Isla Bonita, and Holiday.

I have the bar set high because it's Madonna, but compare it to any female pop star's concert today, no comparison.

  5. Oh god,so sick of the tired old queens, and their complaints about the lack of hits. Madonna lives in the present, with a keen focus on the future. Unfortunately many of her fans and critics are stuck in a 1987 time warp. Sucks for them. Madonna doesn't do greatest hits, and she never does encores. You would think people who call themselves fans, would know that, or check the setlist, or watch any of her previous 5 fucking tours, as a point of reference.

Anyway, I saw the show last night, and it was an amazing experience for those of us who have been paying attention. The show was a masterclass in pop theatrics. She absolutely owned that stage, with the force of her artistry, and persona. I was awed, and so proud to be a fan of this woman. I can't wait to see it again at MSG in November!

    1. Very true. I do bellieve the person that didn't like it does not understand art. But it sucks when people don't know most of the songs. It kills the energy from the crowd. Even a Madonna fan could have done without gang bang and revolver. At least perform the better songs on the album, like love spent.

    2. Gang Bang is one of the best songs on MDNA, and a career highlight. I'm thrilled that she's performing it on the tour. The show is performance art, and every song has to fit into Madonna's vision of the story she's trying to tell. That process has nothing to do with fans, and whatever hits they wanna hear. People need to get over it, and enjoy the amazing show, or stay home and listen to the immaculate collection.

    3. First off your rude.
I'm not a tired old queen. Nor am i stuck in a 1987 time warp. I was not complaining in my post i was expressing my point off view. I also never suggested that she should do a greatest hits tour. As far as the encores goes i was merely expressing that she should maybe extend the show so it doesn't feel so short ( Your calling me a queen? could you have flamed out anymore in your nasty post ) I'm happy to hear YOU had an amazing experience but your experience was not mine. Pub asked us to tell us about OUR experience at the show.
your post was attacking, offensive and rude. You know you can be a fan of Madonna's and not love everything she does its called having a mind off your own.
Anyway ...you know what they say opinions are like assholes everyone has one

    4. Amen, michael.

A lot of aging, deluded Queens on the rag.

First three songs were torture. lol. Most people think it;s her best opening of a tour so far.

Anyone who goes to a Madonna concert expecting to see a lot of hits are either new M fans or just dumb.

She has NEVER done a tour with mostly classics or old songs. She goes on tour to promote her latest work. Girl Gone Wild, Revolver and Gang Bang are all new work for her to perform.

Don't like it? Don't go to her concerts :)

    5. Quite funny, 'cause to me the ones calling others aging, deluded Queens are the aging, deluded queens themselves.

    6. Really? I'm 34 and clearly not deluded. Going to a Madonna concert and expecting her to sing most of the songs from her first album, Like a Virgin and True Blue??

That's deluded and I don't care for Queens, especially dudes who give themselves female names like, 'Nicola' :)

  6. It's Mae Mordabito 2012. Look at the foot stance.

  7. Section 223 here too, Pud.Row 11. I was in Madonna Lent and had my Madonna Easter on Thursday, Sept 6th. Living my life free of Madonna and spoiler free since the show started in May. I FUCKIN LOVED IT. IT ROCKED MY WORLD. I was in ecstacy and excitement the whole way through. I saw the show with virgin eyes and was able to just enjoy the juxtapositions and layered meanings and just great pop art and music!! :-)

    1. I was in the same section. Thursday night. Was the section filled? because it was only half full when I went.

    2. No it wasn't filled but I believe it was 2 reasons: 1) Those HUGE speakers for the concert and 2) we were in Season Ticket holder area. So if you noticed some out of place ppl, that's why. I actual met some Yankee Season Ticket holder Madonna haters. They kept saying (loudly) they would leave if Madonna didn't start at 8pm and could care less about her. MmmHmmm yeah. Is that why you trekked all the way out to Yankee Stadium. Closet Madonna fans, I swear. But I had a blast :) What row were you??

  8. The show was amazing. Madonna was ravishing. how she can be so incredibly agile and look so youthful is beyond me. I was in front of the catwalk, and seeing her face up close I could see the very same face as in The La Isla Bonita video...It was uncanny, and to an aging queen, reassuring. Long live Madonna, and those who are steadfast followers who haven't imagined themselves pseudo-social network managers. BTW, Guy was amazingly generous. Asked if I wanted to go in the pit and gave my friend and I t-shirts. I chose not to as I think being in front of the triangle was the best seat in the house, with the exception of that godawful Madiva hamming it up...Only sorry I wasn't there again tonight to see Holiday integrated. Madonna fucking steamrolls anyone else in the entertainment business. That is a fact. Negative Nellys: Your opinions are essentially superfluous and bratty, and unwanted. Eff off.

    1. So only raving reviews are allowed here? ROFL! Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. What about that? Whatever.

I prefer fans with an own opinion to fans like you. If all Madonna fans only had one (your) opinion about the show, Madonna would have failed. Not only because I am sure that most Madonna fans are able to write more intelligent reviews than you but also because if everyone loved every second of her show it would be quite boring to read the reviews.

    2. Exactly!

Most of the BA tour sucked. All of DWT sucked and the GS tour sucked.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, yes indeed. :)

  9. DWT had an encore....Holiday and Music came after a large pause after La Isla.

I will see the show in Denver and then in Miami. I have already watched it via YouTube a billion times....lol. I think it's a great show and stronger than S&S. I love the dark theatrics of the opening. It's classic, angry, yet tongue-in-cheek Madonna. What Madonna fan doesn't want to see the ultra-awesome Gang Bang live? It was the major highlight of the album for sure, at least to many. The performance is pure theatre. I for one adore the fact that Madonna keeps pushing forward and only allows her older hits to accent her newer work in relation to how they fit into the style of the segment. She could oh so easily crank out an all hits tour year after year and probably make more than she does already, but how boring would that be for her and her die hards? I would rather see her blowing away her dancers with fake guns than see her prancing around to Holiday and Like a Virgin in a way we have seen her do so many times before. Like one journalist stated, the very fact that Madonna continues to so things her way on tour is the very reason why she is headlining Yankee Stadium and no other female of her generation is.

  10. I will reserve judgement until I see the show live myself. From what I have watched, I love most of it. As a die hard, I love the fact that she keeps pushing forward and playing her latest vision. That said, I would love to hear the oldies as well. I have several girl friends from work who are going to see Madonna for the first time. They love her, but are not die hards. I wonder what their experience will be? I already told them to not expect a greatest hits show, and they said they didn't care because it's Madonna. We shall see!

  11. And what shirt is Madonna wearing in that photo? I'd love to get that one! Haven't seen it yet.
