She was superhuman in this show - more than on any other tour. The evidence is right there in front of your eyes in the video above. I just cannot imagine what it must have been like to have seen that with the naked eye. To have been front row for WTG tour must have been like an out of body experience.
i love it! xo
Such a bare bones tour. Great to see this footage!
I WAS THERE! July 26th 1987. I just turned 14 and it was my first time seeing the Queen! I have all the news reports from that night and the next day thanks to my parents and the vcr. It was a magical and very hot night! And Tony, it seems bare bones now, but at the time it was revolutionary for a "rock show". Very theatrical for the time period.
The True Blue/Who's That Girl era was the turning point for Lady Madonna. She became an artist, rebel, Queen and Evita! This performance was where she cried in her art for the first time. Who's That Girl? was the first time a fan cried at a rock concert because Madonna became the first artist to make critics take notes, fans cry and hearts melt. Madonna Cried-and Rock itself Cried with Her Ladyship! Key songs-Open Your Heart, Who's That Girl?, The Look of Love and Live to Tell. Madonna began to Cry. After Who's That Girl?, Rock & roll was never again the same!-thanks to the art of Madonna. Love you Madge Ciccone!
I was there at Florence, the last show of the tour. It was a magical experience.
