Marc Jacobs Collaborates With Maripol

Marc Jacobs collaborated on a jewelry and T-shirt line with Maripol. Maripol is the stylist known for creating Madonna's "Like a Virgin" look. The line, Marc Jacobs + Maripol, is available at the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique on Bleecker in nyc. It includes 13 jewelry pieces, all from $4-$25, rubber bracelets, and chunky necklaces and 5 t-shirt designs. Maripol will be at the boutique tomorrow siging t shirts and books [WWD]

Marc by Marc Jacobs' Madonna-Inspired Hair

As a child of the '80s, I'm obsessed with the pop culture and styles from then; though I'm thankful that heavily hairsprayed strands are no longer en vogue—hello, hair damage!—I'm fascinated by the sticky-sweet dos of the day. And like everyone else, I have a soft spot for Madonna. Which is why I was excited when, while backstage at the Marc by Marc Jacobs show earlier, I encountered the perfect homage to the pop princess' 1980s coif confections (and excessive hair product): "It's very inspired by Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan," says Guido, Redken's creative consultant who keyed the show. "The hairstyle is meant to look a little 'bad girl.' We've got these lovely bows that Marc made so I want to keep the texture rough to offset those."

The Material Girl will once flex her pilate-sculpted body for the Louis Vuitton 2009/10 Fall campaign. Looks like Marc Jacobs may have had Madonna in mind for the fall collection: who else but Madge can do Chic Coquine & Bourgeoise so well?

There is no confirmation if Her Madge-sty will sport the coquettish “Bunny Ears” headband on or not.

The shoot will take place in about 2 weeks at the end of April
